Well the family gathering this time might not have been as big as a typical Bandasa gathering since it was only extended to the Sinundai family, still that doesn't mean it wasn't like any typical Kaamatan family gathering! Good food, dances, games, "live band" (that was meant to be sarcastic tho!), traditional gongs and lots more. The only thing left out this time was the unduk ngadau since that's normally reserved for Bandasa's gathering.
The traditional food was superb! I loved the rice wrapped in tarap leaves, and the buffalo meat stew bapa tua cooked. Yum Yum! It's been so long since I've had good traditional kadazan food. Too bad they didn't serve hinava this year. But anyway, here are a couple of videos during the sazau papar competition. I must say that it's not as easy at it looks!
This next one includes aunts, uncles and cousins playing the traditional music. See my aunt play the kulintangan!
Pictures to be uploaded soon!
